Mrs. Dawn Thomas – Group Chief Executive Officer, One Caribbean Media Limited
Dawn Thomas is the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of One Caribbean Media Limited (OCM) since 2011. Prior to her present appointment she served for four years as the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Caribbean Communications Network Limited (CCN), a subsidiary of the OCM Group.
OCM is the largest and most diversified media organization in the Caribbean. It comprises the Express newspaper, television station – CCN TV6 and five radio stations in Trinidad and Tobago, the Nation newspaper and Starcom Network radio stations in Barbados, the Grenada Broadcasting Network (GBN) in Grenada and radio services in five Eastern Caribbean islands. OCM is listed on both the Trinidad and Tobago Stock Exchange and Barbados Stock Exchange.
Prior to her tenure with the OCM Group, she spent fifteen (15) years with the Massy Group and held the position of CEO of Tracmac Engineering Limited. During her appointment with the Massy Group, Mrs. Thomas worked with the energy, construction, agriculture, industrial and marine sectors of the economy. Mrs. Thomas also served as a Director on the Board of Massy Energy, Associated Brands Ltd. (Guyana) and Massy Finance.
Mrs. Thomas is the past Vice Chairman of the International Press Institute (IPI) headquartered in Vienna, Austria. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of One Caribbean Media Ltd. (OCM) and the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC) in Barbados. She also serves as a Director of RBC Merchant Bank (Caribbean) Limited and RBC Royal Bank (Trinidad and Tobago) Limited.
Mrs. Thomas holds a BSc. Industrial Engineering (Hons) Degree from the University of the West Indies (UWI) and also completed an Executive Development Programme at the University of Western Ontario.
Mr. Anthony Shaw – Chief Executive Officer, The Nation Corporation
Mr. Anthony Shaw has a career that spans over 30 years in the finance industry, at both operational and executive levels. He possesses a proven track record of success and has a well-rounded background with a strong strategic, financial and sales orientation.
Mr. Shaw was the Chief Executive Officer of Signia Financial Group Inc. and played a pivotal role in the development and growth of that organization.
He is the holder of BComm, Accounting and Management Information Systems, McGill University and a member of the Canadian Institute of Chartered Accountants. He also has a deep knowledge of the Nation having served eight (8) years as a Director in the Nation Group.
The Jamaican-born Mr Shaw, who has been a resident of Barbados since 1992, is involved in the Barbados Business Trust which focuses on mentoring young entrepreneurs. He is an active Rotarian which organisation assists several charitable groups. He supports domestic violence initiatives and has been involved in various community activities at the Nation.
Mr. Douglas Wilson, General Manager, Trinidad Express Newspapers
Mr. Douglas Wilson, who joined the Trinidad Express Newspapers in 2014, has over 20 years’ experience in the newspaper industry. He earlier held positions in consulting, banking and government in in the field of software development before a focus in Operations Management.
Douglas is the holder of a B.Sc. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of the West Indies. He holds an advanced diploma in Accounting and Finance C.DipAF and an MBA from UWI – Institute of Business.
He also served as a Director of ANSA Polymer Ltd.
Ms. Karlene Ng Tang – Chief Financial Officer/Company Secretary, One Caribbean Media Limited
Karlene Ng Tang joined Caribbean Communications Network Limited (CCN Group) in 1998 as the Group Financial Accountant and assumed the role of Group Financial Controller in 2009. At present, she also holds the position of Corporate Secretary, CCN Group.
Karlene is a Fellow of the Chartered Association of Certified Accountants with over 23 years’ experience, including 8 years in executive management and 19 years in the media industry.
Her experience includes audit, financial accounting and management, budgeting, treasury management and related activities.
Karlene also serves as a Director on the Board of the Express Children’s Fund.
Mr. Gregory Camejo – Group Executive, Corporate Services, One Caribbean Media Limited
Gregory Camejo joined the Caribbean Communications Network Ltd. (CCN) in 2010 as the Group Human Resources Manager and later that year assumed the role of Group Corporate Services Manager. He became the OCM Group Executive Corporate Services in January 2013 where he provides support in the areas of strategy implementation, alignment of HR policies and practices, executive management development, achievement of non-financial enabling goals. Gregory also leads the various support services departments in the group such as Human Resources, Marketing, Digital Media, Technology, HSE and Labour Relations, Security and Facilities.
Gregory holds a MSc in International Finance (MScIF) from UWI , Master of Business Administration (MBA) from Andrews University and a Master of Social Sciences (M.SocSci) from the University of Leicester.
Mr. Noel Wood – Group Financial Controller/Chief Operating Officer (Ag.) – The Nation Corporation
Mr. Noel Wood is Group Financial Controller/ Chief Operating Officer (Acting) of The Nation Corporation. Mr. Wood is a chartered accountant and a fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Barbados (ICAB) and holds a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Finance from City University, London. He is a director of SVG Publishers Inc. During his tenure, he attended several developmental and training programmes and has played a pivotal role in several projects that has driven the success of the company.
Mrs. Miriam Wilson-Edwards – Group Internal Auditor, One Caribbean Media Limited
Mrs. Miriam Wilson-Edwards has over eighteen (18) years internal audit experience in various spheres of business, which includes, Banking and Financial Services, Medical Services, Insurance, Procurement, Contract Management, Real Estate and Commercial Services, Property Development and Facilities Management.
She is a Certified Volunteer Instructor for the Institute of Internal Auditors (IIA) Inc. and has facilitated seminars in the USA and in Trinidad and Tobago. Miriam previously served as the Senior Vice-President on the IIA Trinidad and Tobago (IIA-TT) Chapter’s Executive Team and currently serves as a Governor on the IIA-TT Board.
Miriam holds a Bachelor of Science Degree (Hons) in Economics /Finance from UWI, St. Augustine. She is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants (FCCA) United Kingdom (UK), a Certified Internal Auditor (CIA); an Associate Member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners (ACFE), holds Certification in Risk Management Assurance (CRMA) and a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) in Leadership, Entrepreneurship and Innovation with Distinction from the Anglia Ruskin University, UK.
