
The Board of Directors comprises ten (10) members, of which two are executive and eight are non-executive.










Sir Fred Gollop, QC, has been Chairman of the Nation Group of Companies for 34 years. He has served on the Boards of many Corporations in the public and private sectors and is at present a Director of First Caribbean International Bank Limited and Fortress Fund Managers' Limited. He was President of the Senate of Barbados from 1994 to 2008 and was knighted in 1996.
Mrs. Thomas is currently the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of One Caribbean Media Limited (OCM). Prior to her present appointment she served for four years as the Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Caribbean Communications Network Limited (CCN), which is a subsidiary of the OCM Group.
Prior to her tenure with the OCM Group, she spent fifteen (15) years with the Neal and Massy Group and held the position of CEO of Tracmac Engineering Limited. During her appointment with the N&M Group, Mrs. Thomas worked with the energy, construction, agriculture, industrial and marine sectors of the economy. Mrs. Thomas also served as a Director on the Board of Neal and Massy Energy Services Ltd., Associated Brands Ltd. (Guyana) and General Finance Corporation Limited.
She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the One Caribbean Media (OCM)Group and the International Press Institute (IPI) (Austria). She also is the Chairman of the Caribbean News Agency (CANA) and Chairman (Ag.) of the Caribbean Media Corporation (CMC), Barbados.
Mrs. Thomas holds a BSc. Industrial Engineering (Hons) Degree from the University of the West Indies (UWI) and also completed an Executive Development Programme at the University of Western Ontario.
Mrs. Vivian-Anne Gittens is the Chief Executive Officer of Nation Corporation and Publisher and Chief Executive Officer of the Nation Publishing Co. Limited. She is a Certified Management Accountant and a trained Financial Management Consultant.Mrs. Gittens has worked as a Management Consultant locally and egionally, and as a Project and Investment Analyst with development agencies in the region. Mrs. Gittens chaired the Public UtilitiesBoard for the last 5 years of its existence and served as the Deputy Chairman of the Fair Trading Commission.
Mrs. Gittens served on the Boards of Sagicor Financial Inc, Sagicor Life Inc. and the Mutual Bank of the Caribbean. She currently sits on the Board of the Nation Corporation, and The Nation Publishing Co. Limited.
Mr. Harold Hoyte is a founding member and Editor Emeritus of the Nation Newspaper and is currently Chairman of the Nation Publishing Company Limited based in Barbados. He is the past President and Editor-in-Chief of Nation Publishing and a former President of the Caribbean Publishing and Broadcasting Association. He remains active in media organisations including the Commonwealth Press Union and the Inter-American Press Association. A former Commonwealth Press Union Fellow and Eisenhower Fellow, he was recognized by Columbia University in the United States for his contribution to Caribbean journalism with the Maria Moors Cabot Citation in 1984
He was awarded the Gold Crown of Merit (GCM) by Barbados in 2003, is a Distinguished Honorary Fellow of the University of the West Indies and was awarded the honorary Doctor of Letters Degree by the University of the West Indies in October 2005. A Member of the Board of One Caribbean Media (OCM) Limited, he also served for one year as a Board Member of the Jamaica Gleaner. A former President of the Caribbean Publishing and Broadcasting Association, he is a member of the Commonwealth Press Union and the Inter-American Press Association; he is also on the Advisory Board of the International Centre for Journalists in Washington.
Dr. Phillips retired as a principal of the Barbados and Eastern Caribbean practices of Coopers & Lybrand and Managing Director of Colybrand Company Services Limited on the merger of the international firms of Coopers & Lybrand with Price Waterhouse in 1998. He now practices as a private corporate and financial consultant. Dr. Phillips served as Chairman of the Barbados National Bank for approximately seven years and as Director of the Barbados Stock Exchange from its inception.
He was awarded his doctorate from Bradford University (UK) in 2004 and holds professional qualifications in Chartered Secretaryship, Accounting and Banking. Dr. Phillips was awarded the CBE in the Queen's New Year honor in 2000 for his contribution to accountancy and public service in Barbados.
Mr. Tracey Bazie is a retired multinational business executive and has been a member of the Board of CCN/OCM since 2001. He started and ran businesses in many countries in the Middle East, Africa, Caribbean and Eastern Europe with several multinationals. He previously served as Chairman of the Board of the IDC. Mr. Bazie was educated at Queen's Royal College, holds an L.L.B. degree from Durham University (U.K.) and an MBA degree from Columbia University in New York, U.S.A.
Mr. Carl Mack is the Executive Chairman of JTA Supermarkets Limited. He sits on the Boards of Directors of Spancrete Caribbean Limited and East San Fernando Housing Development. He is also an Executive Member of the Supermarket Association of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mr. Michael Carballo is an Independent Financial Consultant, advising small and medium sized clients and specialising in the areas of Financial and Corporate Restructuring. Up until recently, Mr. Carballo served as Group Financial Director of the CL Financial Group of Companies, following his move from the Angostura Group of Companies, where he served as Executive Director and Secretary.
Mr. Carballo is a Chartered Accountant and also serves on the Board of Grace Kennedy (Trinidad) Limited.
Peter Symmonds Q.C. is an Attorney-at-Law who has been in private practice for 32 years. He holds a Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) from the University of the West Indies and a Masters of Laws (LL.M) from the University of London and is also a Justice of the Peace in Barbados.
Mr. Symmonds serves as a Director on Republic Bank (Barbados) Limited (formerly Barbados National Bank Inc.) and United Insurances Company Limited. He was a Board Member of BS&T for 6 years prior to its acquisition by Neal & Massy. He is also a Director of the Rum Refinery of Mount Gay Limited, a privately held company, and a Trustee of The Maria Holder Memorial Trust, and The Brewster Trust, Registered Barbados Charities.
An Attorney-at-Law, Mr Hosein obtained LLB at Dundee University, Scotland and was called to the Bar of England and Wales at Lincoln's Inn. He has been in private civil law practice since 1988 in Trinidad and Tobago and was called to the Bars of Barbados in 1991 and Grenada in 1997.
